Today I sent a wonderful, thoughtful neighbor a message of gratitude! She covers the shiny silver pop ups on my head every 5 weeks. No, it wasn’t to tell her thank you for making my hair so beautiful …but rather to tell her thanks for being a great sounding board! She has the remarkable talent of something so rare and hard to find and something so hard to remember to be, and that is the talent of being a terrific listener!
She showed up at my door one evening with a brightly multi-colored bouquet of flowers! She has been doing my hair for several years now, and we bounce ideas off each other, but more importantly she has been great therapy as we chat about life and the challenges it throws at us. Her thoughtful gesture of colorful flowers and a hug is more appreciated than she knows! Neighbors can truly be like family as we grow to love one another through the years.
A simple gesture that brightened my day also assures me we are all in this game called life together and we need to buoy one another up, be great listeners and tell at least one person a day how grateful we are for them
I am grateful for her kind gesture and hug!
